Join us for An Evening of Persian Classical Music featuring two acclaimed Iranian master musicians, Pejman Hadadi on percussion and Nima Janmohammadi on setar.
This intimate concert brings together the rich rhythmic language of Persian percussion, including Tombak and Daf, with the expressive and delicate sound of the Setar. Through an improvised, timeless journey, the artists embody a thousand-year-old tradition, weaving together memory, archive, and melodies passed down through the breath of a people and the living legacy of a sophisticated ancient culture across the centuries.
Pejman Hadadi is internationally recognized as one of the most innovative Iranian percussionists. Known for his mastery of tombak and daf, he has performed and recorded with leading ensembles such as Dastan and Zarbang, and has collaborated with many renowned musicians from Iran and beyond. He is also a dedicated educator and serves as Lecturer in Ethnomusicology and Co-Director of the Music of Persia Ensemble at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, where he shares the traditions of Persian percussion and rhythmic cycles with new generations of musicians. His work reflects both a deep respect for Persian rhythmic traditions and a bold, creative musical approach.
Nima Janmohammadi is a composer, improviser, multi-instrumentalist, and distinguished performer of Persian classical music. He serves on the faculty at New England Conservatory, where his work bridges performance, composition, improvisation, and music theory. Deeply engaged with both Persian classical music and contemporary musical thought, he brings a thoughtful and expansive musical perspective to the stage.
Elite Events Hub is thrilled to present this special evening of Persian music, artistry, and cultural expression.
