The Evening of Elegance collaboration between the Richmond Area Arts Council and the RIchmond-Madison County Branch of the NAACP is returning in 2024 on January 26, and we've moved the program to the lobby of the EKU Center for the Arts! This year's program will honor various African American music educators from the central Kentucky area with over 30 years of service including Ms. Lutisha Coleman-Morton, Ms. Tribble Nelson Curry, and Dr. Carl Smith. The event will also include performances by the Kentucky State University Concert Choir, Letitia Allen, Deloris "Bootsie" Boone, Maranda Brooks, Dr. Kathy Bullock, Brooks Giles, Koree Jackson, Mary Jackson, Keith McCutchen, Bones Burdette, Ward Simmons, Randy Westbrook, and others. An artist reception will take place at 3:00 the following day at the Richmond Area Arts Center, and it will feature works by multiple visual artists. Tickets are now available by visiting the EKU Center for the Arts or the Richmond Area Arts Center, going online at ekucenter.com, or through the Richmond-Madison County Branch of the NAACP.
