Alex will open one of his new tracks and showcase all the steps from song creation, sound design and his mixing process - up until a finished, mastered track.

  • Career tips and tricks for upcoming producers and engineers alike.
  • Demonstrating the ability to create huge mixes using minimal equipment.

After this workshop you will:

  • Understand basic compression and EQ techniques - the building blocks to any good mix.
  • Writer's block and how to overcome this
  • Design sounds from scratch
  • Expand into advanced compression and EQ techniques.
  • Learn how to group tracks and process groups.
  • Multi-band techniques.
  • How to correctly reference good source material.
  • The workshop will be covered in Ableton Live using stock
  • plugins, enabling you to replicate what you learn outside of the studios.
  • Learn how to mix into compression and limiting

About the Trainer:

Alexander Braithwaite from SUB-human Engineering.

Alex is a multiple Gold Record awarded engineer with works for various artists collecting over 100 Million plays on Spotify alone. He is the Mixing and Mastering engineer for Slumberjack, What So Not.

Credits include: Oliver Tree, Killer Mike, DMAs, Louis the child, Evan Giia, Body Ocean, MØ, LDRU, RL Grime, Needs no sleep.

Alex has also been producing for over 10 years, originally under the alias 'Trumpdisco' and currently as 'SUB-human'. He has released music on independent and major labels, remixed for industry heavy weights Fatboy Slim & Adam Freeland as well and headlined shows and festivals worldwide.

“I’ve been developing my own style of mixing and mastering over the past 10 years. Working with some of the biggest names in dance music has forced me to constantly adapt and learn new techniques which I am very excited to share with you over the course.”
