An Evening at Garden Loft: Where Innovation Meets Aging in Place
About this Event
Garden Loft and the Dr. Barrie Strafford Centre for Learning, Innovation, and Quality (CLIQ), with support from Alberta Innovates, are working together on an innovative health data integration project exploring new ways to support older adults to live safely and independently in their communities.
On October 6, 2026, we’re bringing that work into the spotlight with an evening at the Garden Loft Factory in Calgary.
Join us as we celebrate the work already underway and share how our partnership is exploring the potential of innovative housing, passive home monitoring, and health data to support older adults to live independently, maintain their wellbeing, and remain connected to their communities.
Together, we’re exploring how information from the home can provide meaningful insights into mobility, sleep, daily routines, safety, and wellbeing, and how these insights can contribute to more proactive, person-centred approaches to supporting older adults.
The work reflects CLIQ’s focus on advancing quality of life for older adults through innovation, evidence, and community-based approaches, while creating opportunities to learn from what is happening at Garden Loft and consider how promising approaches could benefit communities more broadly.
We’re inviting colleagues and partners from government, continuing care, health care, research, technology, community organizations, and beyond to come together, learn more about the work, see the Garden Loft environment, and celebrate what we’ve been building together.
