Ars Musica Chicago presents Ensemble Affect in a festive program celebrating two important observances in March: International Women’s Day on March 8 and J.S. Bach’s 341st birthday on March 21. Enjoy complimentary coffee, wine, and refreshments as you delight in music by Bach, works dedicated to his wife Anna Magdalena Bach, and pieces written by women composers associated with Bach and his students. For more program details, visit https://bit.ly/AMCCoffeehouse2026. Admission is FREE; no tickets are required, but donations will be gratefully accepted.
Ensemble Affect is a string band based in both San Francisco and Chicago, specializing in creating performances that explore the expanse of human emotion, and draw upon historically-inspired performance practice. Group members live nationwide, forming a web of opportunity to bring the thrilling music created in the Baroque, Classical, and Renaissance periods to many locations across the country in addition to our two home cities. Ensemble Affect is devoted to providing accessible, engaging, and educational opportunities to experience historical performances.
