‘The strongest man in the world is the one who stands alone’.The 1882 Ibsen play An Enemy of the People has made its way to Porter’s for a dramatic debut for 414 Theatre Co.
The Baths are a lifeline for the small-town Dr. Stockmann calls home. His brother is the mayor, his friends run the newspaper, and his wife teaches at the school. But when he finds that the Baths are contaminated, he must spread the word. The challenge begins when his community turns against his cause, and Stockmann must convince the town that it is in the best interest for this to be known. But when the government, the newspapers and even your family are against you, how can you tell the truth?
Directed and acted by students, 414 Theatre Co. makes its theatre debut with strong performances and striking visuals, to discuss how making change is not always black and white.
