*Two available workshop dates: Satuday, June 15 and Tuesday, July 9*Explore the beautiful technique of silk ribbon embroidery! The texture and three-dimensional aspects of this technique are stunning. Once you master the skills, you can build up a beautiful bouquet full of foliage and flowers. All experience levels are welcome.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Laura Tandeske has been embroidering for 40+ years specializing in Surface Embroidery. She has studied Fine Arts at California State University, East Bay, and Embroidery with the Embroiderers Guild of America and the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design. Her piece called “Balance” has toured the United States and Canada as part of the 2-year Sixteenth National Exhibit with the Embroiderers Guild of America. This award-winning embroiderer is a frequent instructor at the San Francisco School of Needlework and Design.
MATERIALS TO BRING:
A 6" or 8" embroidery hoop (but hoops will also be made available for your use during the class!)
Scissors
Needle threader
Anything else that would make you comfortable (a seat cushion, clip-on light, magnifier, thimble, etc.)
Note-taking supplies
All sewing supplies are available at the Museum shop.
The class fee is $45.00, with $10 kit fee (payable to the instructor). Kit includes needle, muslin, and embroidery thread.
