Dec.19 and 20! Experience an ongoing Edmonton Christmas tradition, by joining the Don Berner Big Band for the very best time of the year! This year, feel the excitement of seeing Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker performed LIVE, along with arrangements of Christmas classics from the great Ella Fitzgerald book! This promises to be an unforgettable evening full of amazing musicianship and the spirit of the season! Each year audiences fall in love with the Don Berner Big Band Christmas tradition and this year will be no exception! This project is supported by the Edmonton Arts Council, the City of Edmonton, the Government of Alberta. and the Edmonton Downtown Business Association. The Don Berner Big Band is the city of Edmonton’s flagship large jazz ensemble. An Edmonton jazz favourite for over a decade, the Don Berner Big Band became the first professional large jazz ensemble in Edmonton to have a fully programmed concert season in 2021. Featuring Edmonton’s best jazz musicians, the Don Berner Big Band presents an eclectic season drawing from classic big band and swing repertoire, collaborations with contemporary and pop artists, adaptations of works from other mediums, and more with a variety of special illustrious guests, all presented in Edmonton Public Library’s Muttart Theatre in Downtown Edmonton!
