Join us for an evening with ANGRY ROBOT and some of the most exciting new names in Science Fiction and Fantasy
About this Event

ANGRY ROBOT are an independent publisher dedicated to the very best of modern adult science fiction, fantasy and WTF?! and we're delighted to be holding a special evening showcasing some of their brilliant authors. Joining us on the night and discussing their work will be Stephen Aryan, Dan Hanks, Guy Haley, Chris Panatier and Micah Yongo. The talk will be followed by a signing.

About the authors:

Stephen Aryan is the author of the Age of Darkness and Age of Dread trilogies. His first novel, Battlemage, was a finalist for the David Gemmell Morningstar Award for best debut fantasy novel. It also won the inaugural Hellfest Inferno Award in France. He has previously written a comic book column and reviews for Tor.com. In addition, he has self-published and kickstarted his own comics.

An experienced Science Fiction journalist and critic, Guy Haley worked for SFX Magazine as deputy editor, he edited gaming magazine White Dwarf, and was the editor of Death Ray Magazine. He lives in Somerset with his wife, young son, and an enormous, evil-tempered Norwegian forest cat called, ironically, Buddy. Richards and Klein will be published in May and is like a 22nd century Holmes and Watson...except Richards is a highly advanced AI and Klein is a German ex-military cyborg.

Dan Hanks is the author of Captain Moxley and the Embers of the Empire and Swashbucklers. He is a writer, editor, and vastly overqualified archaeologist who has lived everywhere from London to Hertfordshire to Manchester to Sydney, which explains the panic in his eyes anytime someone asks “where are you from?”. Thankfully he is now settled in the rolling green hills of the Peak District with his human family and fluffy sidekicks Indy and Maverick, where he writes books, screenplays and comics.

Chris Panatier lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, daughter, and a fluctuating herd of animals resembling dogs (one is almost certainly a goat). He writes short stories and novels - including The Phlebotomist and the forthcoming Stringers (May 2022) - “plays” the drums, and draws album covers for metal bands.

Micah Yongo is a UK-based journalist, writer, videographer and the author of Lost Gods and Pale Kings. When he’s not writing articles he can be found lamenting the often rainy weather in his beloved hometown of Manchester, working on his true passion – fiction writing – or blogging about the varied things that make the world tick, and those who live in it.

Doors: 6.30, event starts: 6.45
