An Angelic Meditation at The Scarab Club

Lux Angelorum meditations allow participants to explore the history and practice of angelic theurgy, an "occult" tradition practiced by spiritual rebels and religious insiders alike. This tradition uses the astrological calendar to facilitate reflection on the spirit of the moment while contemplating and visualizing the fascinating beings who have intrigued us for millennia. Libra season is an opportunity to learn how magicians and monks have--and do--engage with "Zuriel." Themes associated with this month center equality, personal balance and organization.

Special guest Habibah (Biba) Sheikh joins us in our theurgic ritual on vocals to deepen our experience. Biba is, "an artist whose performance work explores the intersection of voice, physicality, and ritualistic expression. She uses ancient singing postures to draw focus on the body’s natural ability to produce sound as a forceful, healing energy." She has worked alongside luminaries like Ludwik Flaszen, Marina Abromovic and Jorge Lopez.
