An Afternoon of Mindfulness
About this Event

Do you feel stressed because of the rising cost of living, are you worried about how to pay your bills, feed your kids and pay your mortgage? Are you fearful because of what is happening in the world like the war in Ukraine, the global warming, the ongoing political chaos and uncertainty? Would you like to be able to relax and be worry-free just for a little while?

There are a lot of things, both in our personal lives and on a global level, to be worried and fearful about. You are not alone. Everyone around you is experiencing some levels of worry, anxiety and fear right now.

What that does is it keeps us in fight-flight mode, our stress level is constantly high. Maybe you feel that you can still cope, that things haven't gotten too bad, that with a little bit of mindful breathing, excessive exercise, occasional angry outbursts or tearful moments, numbing with smoking, drinking or consuming other substances, over-eating or seeing a counsellor once a week you will be able to muddle through. But let me tell you that that is not a good way, it is not sustainable, because the stress and the fear and the tension aren't going anywhere and with your behaviours you use to try and manage them you are only making matters worse and are probably doing something very unhealthy to yourself.

Let's try a different way: Let's make some space for mindfulness in our lives.

Living with mindfulness means to live in the present moment. It means to stop doing and to make a conscious decision to just be. It means to intentionally pause. It means to not distract ourselves with Whatsapp messages, Instagram, Facebook, thoughts about the past or thoughts about the future, to not shut down or switch off or numb ourselves. It means to surrender to life as it is right here and right now, moment-to-moment, breath-by-breath.

I have been teaching mindfulness for many years to people who, like you, were stressed, tense, fearful, anxious, nervous, depressed, not sleeping, not coping. Mindfulness has profoundly changed their lives, and it can change yours too.

On Sunday, 26th June, from 2pm - 6pm, I am not going to teach you mindfulness. Instead, I invite you to come along to a meditation retreat where you practise mindfulness under my guidance. Because, you see, the thing is: Mindfulness practice is simple yet very profound. And in order to create the very necessary pause in our lives we don't need to do the training. Our first experience can simply be a mindfulness meditation retreat. If afterwards you want to delve deeper into the art of mindfulness, you are most welcome to do so, but take this afternoon as an invitation into stillness and calm, home to your authentic self.

The number of participants is limited to 15. Don't worry, the room is really big and there will be plenty of space and the window will be kept open for almost all of the workshop (as long as it is not too cold). You don't need to bring anything but yourself. Cushions to sit on the floor and chairs are available. We will practise sitting meditation and walking meditation and break for tea at 4pm.

It's a great opportunity for you to tap into the practice of mindfulness and to meet like-minded people.

The cost for the Afternoon In Mindfulness is €40.00. Included in the cost is not only our time together but also the instructions, a manual with detailed instructions on how to practice in different situations, and a CD with meditations for everyday life.

Sign up for this amazing opportunity today and be inspired by a new experience of stillness and serenity!

Tickets: 15 tickets for €40.00
