About Joshua Haines:
Joshua has been performing and teaching in the arts for over a decade, having received classical training in piano studies, composition and musicology from an early age. He has studied with several experienced and highly respected tutors including, notably, the playwright and pianist Louise Helfgott, PhD (sister of David Helfgott), and recording artist Mark Gasser, PhD.
His works (both original compositions and arrangements) have been performed by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (in collaboration with composer James Ledger) and members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Joshua has worked as Musical Director, Stage Director, Sound Designer and Répétiteur for over 100 theatre productions across Australia, America, and Europe. His most recent endeavour in this field was his engagement as conductor for West Australian Opera’s Koolbardi wer Wardong by Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse; the first opera to be written entirely in the Noongar language.
Since 2017, Joshua has been working extensively within the musical theatre department at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts as lecturer, répétiteur, coach and teacher to the Diploma and Bachelor students – a position which allows him to pursue his passion for showcasing and promoting new and original works.
About Morgan Cowling:
Graduating WAAPA in 2009, Morgan Cowling’s international success has led her to establish a home base in New York City. Her notable roles in the US include Meg Giry in the The Phantom of the Opera (25th Anniversary North American Tour) (The Really Useful Group), as well as off-Broadway appearances as Sherry in Marry Harry (The York Theatre), and Lecy in Once We Lived Here (Urban Stages). For Disney, Morgan has appeared in Wishes and Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular (Disney Cruise Line). Returning temporarily to Perth in 2020, Morgan has sung with the Perth Symphony Orchestra (Perth Festival 2022), and toured the WA regions with Miss Westralia (Western Sky Projects). In partnership with opera singer Caitlin Cassidy, Morgan presented the world premiere of New York, New York? for the 2022 Fringe World Festival; a cabaret providing a unique outlook on life in the big apple.
About Joshua Firman:
As one of Perth’s leading and most recognizable performers, Joshua’s body of work is extensively diverse. Having moved to Australia after growing up in the idyllic Cocos Keeling Islands, Joshua graduated from WAAPA in 2016, whereupon he toured internationally with beloved entertainment group Hi-5 (Live Asia Tour), as well as sharing the screen with Nadine Garner in The Doctor Blake Mysteries (Seven Network), and the stage with Adele as part of her Live 2017 Australian Tour (ANZ Stadium, Sydney). Some of Joshua’s theatre credits include And The World Goes ‘Round (directed by Nancye Hayes), Legally Blonde (James Terry Collective), Once We Lived Here (The Blue Room Theatre), and most recently Into The Woods (West Australian Opera).
