About this Event
NOTE: The Child of the ADF Medallion Richmond event is for children of eligible personnel residing in the Greater Western Sydney region. An event will be held in Sydney/Liverpool for personnel residing in this region.
This event is only for the recognised children of full time current serving Australian Defence Force members.
The Child of the ADF Medallion (CoADFM) will be presented to children who have shown resilience and growth in managing the challenges of the ADF lifestyle.
Participation in the CoADFM program is open to all recognised dependents of full time ADF members (SERCAT 6/7 and SERVOP C) who have experienced one or more of the following;
• Managing a recent relocation
• Connecting to a new community
• Managing a lengthy absence or frequent absences of the ADF family member due to service requirements
• Absence of ADF member due to short notice posting, deployment or exercise
• Difficult family situation or additional unforeseen tasking
As part of this event, DMFS Richmond is excited to include entry to the following matinee movie screening of The Little Mermaid (PG), a drink and snack.
Schedule:
1315 – check in commences
1330 – medallion presentation ceremony commences
1400 – matinee movie screening of The Little Mermaid (PG) commences
1615 – conclusion of movie and event
Parking
Parking is available on McNamara Avenue at the AAFCANS precinct.

To nominate your child/ren for a CoADFM, please register by 25 June 2023. Due to the nature of this event late registrations will unfortunately not be permitted. As there are five different ticket types for this event we ask that you please carefully select the correct ticket type for each member of your family.
You should carefully read the following information to ensure you are aware of all requirements relating to this program.
• Participation in the CoADFM program is open to all Defence recognised dependents of current serving full time ADF members (SERCAT 6/7 and SERVOP C).
• Each eligible participant may only receive one CoADFM during member’s service.
• Tickets are limited. Once the event is fully booked, or if you are unavailable to attend on this date, another event will be held in 2024 or you will be invited to attend a virtual event at a later date.
• When registering for the program, you must register for a ticket for each eligible dependant you are nominating to receive a Medallion, and all other attendees.
• A DCAC (Defence ID) will be required for each ticket holder aged 16 years and above. It is the responsibility of the ADF Member to organise DCACs for all family members who require them. On the day, should you require a Visitor Pass, please proceed to the Richmond Pass Office and arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the event start time. Please note, DMFS staff will not be able to escort any ticket holder, and base access remains the full responsibility of the ticket holder.
• Ensure that the email address you register with is accurate as you will receive your confirmation, and any additional information or changes to the event, by email.
• If you or someone in your family are feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms on the day of the event or have tested positive to COVID, please stay at home.
• Parents are required to remain onsite to supervise their children at all times.
• A photographer will be in attendance at this event. If you don’t want to be photographed, or have your family photographed, please let the photographer know. Please note: any photos taken may be used in DMFS publications, online or on social media.
• If you would like to cancel your nomination, please click on the link in your confirmation email ‘View and manage your order online’. This takes you to your ‘Tickets’ page where you can choose the ‘Cancel my Order’ option to release the tickets back to the event listing.
• The waitlist will show automatically on the registration page once the event is fully booked. If you’d like to register on the waitlist, complete the ‘Contact Information’ form for every individual person who requires a ticket. For example, if three family members require a ticket you should complete the ‘Contact Information’ form three times.
