Calgary's Amy Nelson is a conduit of voices from the past, reverentially channeling the sounds of depression-era blues, psychedelic drone and mountain music. Amy Nelson is one of Canada’s best best performers, and has opened for artists such as Corb Lund, Tim Hus, Whitney Rose, and Frazey Ford. See you at the Legion on April 18th, when Amy Nelson and fellow Calgarian Carter Felker will be performing with their band. Opening set by Big Fancy!Carter Felker’s songwriting is the embodiment of simplicity. Like the hammer and the nail, the tongue and groove or the wheel and its roll - the stringent and punchy use of words alongside outstanding fingerpicking are as effective as they are memorable. Stories of hometown lore, love lost and bitter relationships steeped with a deep sense of humor are Felker’s modus operandi. The ability to tell a story we all know, inside parameters we forget exist.
