Workshop Description - Biography

Doruk Okuyucu embarked on his musical journey while attending high school in Istanbul, starting with guitar and trumpet. He studied flamenco guitar with Ilgaz Benekay, one of the top flamenco guitarists and educators in Turkey, at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. In 2004, he won a scholarship to study at Amor de Dios, one of the most renowned flamenco schools in Spain. He has collaborated with top artists such as Rafael Riqueni and Victor Abadie "El Chipi". In 2005, he performed in numerous concerts and works with the musical group Triana Flamenko, which he co-founded. He won the second prize in the category of foreign guitarists at the Concurso Internacional De Guitarra Flamenca "Niño Ricardo" competition held in Spain.

First day: We will focus on reproducing the correct sound on the guitar, with the right hand.

Second day: We will delve into the harmonic details of flamenco music and work on specific falsetas.
