Amphitrio is a contemporary jazz trio from Romania, founded in 2020 by pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex, and percussionist Philip Goron. The trio makes their Chicago premiere at Constellation, performing music from their latest album, Timelines (2024). The project explores the musical heritage of Central and Eastern Europe, merging contemporary jazz with Balkan and Romanian rhythmic traditions. For this performance, the trio is joined by guest vocalist Ana Everling.
Ana Everling is a creative vocalist and visual artist from the Republic of Moldova, living and performing in Chicago. Possessing a brilliant and hypnotic voice, Ana brings traditional Eastern European music and storytelling into the contemporary idiom, delivering complex performances that address universal themes.
