Stream Team is excited to kick off 2026 with one of our favorite workshops: Amphibians of the Pacific Northwest!This year’s presentation will be led by Teal Waterstrat, a Wildlife and Habitat Biologist with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Teal has dedicated much of his career to studying and protecting amphibian species and the habitats they rely on. His passion for these creatures is contagious, and his presentation style and antics always make a lasting impression.
In addition to Teal’s presentation, Grant Gilmore, Stream Team lead for the City of Tumwater, will share results from last year’s amphibian surveys, data collected by our very own Stream Team volunteers over the past ten plus years. Grant will highlight how this information is being used to guide the management of storm-pond habitats, helping ensure amphibians have the time and space they need to breed, lay egg masses, and complete their life cycles before moving on from these ponds.
If you are interested in participating in our 2026 amphibian surveys which typically take place during the months of March and April, this is a workshop you won’t want to miss. Whether you join us to conduct surveys or just want to learn more about these incredible creatures, this workshop has something for everyone.
