We invite you to join us, for Amistad Family Day, on Sunday, September 19th, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm, at the Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, in HartfordThe Farmington Historical Society is a proud partner of Discovering Amistad, and their efforts to bring the fabled tall ship, Amistad, to dock at Riverfront Recapture’s Mortensen Riverfront Plaza. The Amistad cruised up the Connecticut River and arrived in Hartford, on Tuesday, September 7th, and will remain through the month of September. One of the events planned is Amistad Family Day, which will take place on Sunday, September 19th, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. Free dockside education, tours aboard the Amistad, and entertainment/performances, from area artists, are planned. The Farmington Historical Society will have a table at this event, manned by some of our 'experts" on the Amistad, who can answer questions and provide information about Farmington's critical role in helping the Mendi.
