Sweat Equity Event – Supporting Amigos For Kids

(Parking is available on the street and in the lot behind the park.)

Join Team 4, IMPACT4MIA, for a hands-on day of service at Jose Marti Park! We’re partnering with Amigos For Kids to bring the Simply Sprouts Garden project to life. This initiative is part of our mission to create a positive, lasting impact for the children and families of Miami by revitalizing a neglected fountain into a thriving outdoor learning space.

About Amigos For Kids:
Amigos For Kids is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect by offering comprehensive programs that support at-risk children and their families. Through education, advocacy, and empowerment, Amigos For Kids has been a pillar in the community, providing resources and hope to those who need it most.

The Simply Sprouts Garden Project:
The Simply Sprouts Garden will transform a dormant fountain, unused for over 25 years, into a vibrant space where children can plant, grow, and harvest fresh produce. This outdoor classroom will teach kids about environmental stewardship, healthy eating, and practical life skills, helping them cultivate a deeper connection to nature and their community.

Sweat Equity Event Activities:

• Beautification
• Laying Down Mulch & Stone Paths
• Painting

What to Bring:

• Reusable water bottle
• Hat and sunscreen
• Positive attitude and a passion for helping kids

What to Wear:

• Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
• Closed-toe shoes for safety
• Weather-appropriate gear (e.g., sunglasses, lightweight clothing)

Accessibility:

• Some uneven terrain
• Nearby parking available

• Adults (18+)
• Seniors (55+)
• Groups
