Renowned Australian storyteller Jon Bennett brings his award-winning show American't to Calgary for three performances only. After more than a decade of touring the world, Bennett's dream of making the United States home takes an unexpected turn. Forced back to rural Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic, he spends 18 months living with his conservative family before finally securing a return to the U.S., only to be arrested on arrival. Hilarious, absurd, and deeply personal, American't is a fast-paced storytelling comedy about identity, resilience, belonging, and the strange twists life takes when nothing goes according to plan.
