🎣 Call to Arms: Support Veterans, Families & Our Community! 🇺🇸The American Legion – Post 174 is proud to host a Bass Fishing Tournament on November 8th at Dreher Island State Park. This is more than just a day on the water—it’s a chance to give back to the men and women who’ve served our nation and to strengthen our community.
✅ Why We Fish:
Funds raised will directly support local veterans and their families through:
Home modifications for accessibility
Assistance with medical treatments
Financial relief programs
Community & youth projects
🏆 How You Can Help:
Anglers: Register your team and compete in an exciting day of fishing for a great cause. This is a team event that is a $100 entry fee. 75% goes to payback to anglers and 25% plus any donations and raffles goes to the Fundraiser. Guaranteed 1st place of at least $1000. With potential for more depending on number of registrations. This is open to all ages and all of the community to participate.
Sponsors & Donors: We are looking for those local businesses that want to Partner with us to make a direct impact. Your support helps us expand critical services to veterans and families in need. All sponsors are encouraged to set up at the weigh in location. PM for more details .

📍 Event: American Legion Bass Fishing Tournament
📅 Date: November 8, 2025
📌 Location: Dreher Island State Park
Registration: Starts at 5am Launch at Safelight. Boat numbers issued at registration in order served. 5 Bass Limit. No culling dead fish. If you catch any fish in deeper water, ensure you protect the species and fizz your fish. Dead fish penalty is .5 lb penalty per dead fish. Artificial baits used only, NO LIVE BAIT. Anyone caught cheating during tournament will be immediately DQ from event. All boaters must maintain tournament level insurance and registration. All K*ll switches and LiveWell checks will be performed at launch from chaser boat. 2-person team max. unless you are strictly a captain for two under 18 yrs of age anglers in which the captain will not fish and if caught will DQ the team. They can only verbally coach.
