About this Event

Wynema Morris, professor at the Nebraska Indian Community College and member of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, provides an in-depth analysis of the world view of American Indian people, along with a comparison of both the American Indian values system and that of the Euro-American. This online presentation includes the values of spirituality and religion, time, nature, sharing and acquisition, work, cooperation and competition, teaching and learning, acceptance of change, religion, aging, power and recognition and law.

Registration Required for this online presentation. Those who are registered to "attend" will be emailed a private link to the video—so double check that you have entered a valid email address! The presentation video will only be available to view from Saturday, November 5th at 1:00pm until Saturday, November 12.


About the Presenter:

Wynema Morris, MA is a member of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska and resides on the Omaha Reservation in Walthill, Nebraska. She has taught at the college level for the past 15 years, both at the former Dana College in Blair, Ne. and currently at NICC. Her areas of expertise in Native American Studies focus on Omaha Tribal History, Omaha Tribal Culture & Tradition, NA Philosophy, US-American Indian Relations; and Tribal Government. She is also an accomplished and successful grant-writer, in addition to teaching the class at NICC. She also serves as a cultural consultant to the Minnesota Humanities Center out of St. Paul, Mn, and to the University of Iowa - Office of State Archaeologist. Wynema is also an Associate Fellow with the Study of the Great Plains Center at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
