Why this Forum?

Because it's the USA's 250th birthday, and now that we're out of the World Cup, we need something to put us in a better, yet measured, patriotic mood.

Plus, our good friend Ned will be shipping off to Georgia for much of the fall to play professor at Covenant College, so besides packing, he wants to leave us with a banger.

What to Expect

Slides. Many slides of art through the ages. American ages, that is, and you might have noticed that though our nation is a mere 250 years old, a lot has happened. Much to celebrate, much to grieve.

Ned's gonna give us the gold depostis and the rubbish bin. And your job is enjoy the show, ask questions, and try to have a good time with real people on a Friday night. Also, bring friends!

About Ned

Edwin David Bustard, Jr. is an illustrator, printmaker, book publisher, graphic designer, and author, who makes his home in the West End of Lancaster City. He is a graduate of Millersville University and currently serves as the Artist in Residence/Visiting Professor of Art & Design at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA. Ned also serves as the executive director for the Square Halo Foundation.

He’s an early co-conspirator with Tom Becker in founding The Row House, Inc. along with his wife, Leslie. The Bustards share three grown daughters who are involved with making the world a better place through education, the performing arts, and urban church ministry.

Ned is currently best known for his children’s books with IVPKids and for the linocuts that grace the pages of the Every Moment Holy book series. He authored History of Art: Creation through Contemporary.

Ned loves English spy stuff, most things Marvel, 80s music, and a tall glass of sweet tea. His work companions are Pevensie and Milly-Molly-Mandy. They’re dogs. He is a ruling elder at Wheatland Presbyterian Church.
