THIS IS A SINGLE POSTING FOR TWO EVENTS, BOTH IN ELY, APRIL 5 and 8, 2025, and both running from 7:30 to 10:30 see more details below.Come join an American Contra Dance camp for one or two evenings for an exciting experience of high energy dancing to a top US band (Wild Asparagus, with Ann Percival on keyboard and guitar, Becky Tracy on fiddle, David Cantieni on woodwinds, Mark Murphy on bass, Mark Hellenberg on percussion, and George Marshall on concertina and bodhrán) with callers George Marshall, Janet Shepherd and Terry Doyle. There will be snacks.
NOTE THAT BOTH ARE CLOSED EVENTS (NO DROP-INS) AND ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY E-MAILING [email protected]. Space is limited so sign up soon. No heels with a diameter smaller than 2.5 cm please, and ideally please wear shoes that are not worn outside. We will have a brush for you if the latter is not possible!!
The price is £15 or £10 concessions on Saturday, April 5, 2025 and £10 for all on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Cash only. Remember that there are no drop-ins, as this is a special event. Registration closes Friday, April 4th.
Directions: CB7 4DB in the car navigator will get you to Barton Square. There is a car park near there called Barton Road Car Park. From there cut through by Militia Way to Silver Street, turn right and then left up the Gallery (street name) when you see the large Porta Gate. The entrance to the dance hall is a few hundred yards on the left up the Gallery.
