America250 Block Party
About this Event
In honor of America's 250th birthday and the semiquincentennial of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, PHM is joining many other organizations around the country in celebrating America250!
On the afternoon of July 12, 2026 we will be hosting a good old fashioned block party blowout at the Carnegie Museum! This is a family friendly event with fun activities for all ages!
Free activities include:
- Reading of the Declaration of Independence
- Performances of Americana songs from the Male Schubert Choir
- LIVE Bald Eagle Program/Encounter with Michigan Avian Experience
- Phonograph demonstrations with "Depot" Dave Dazer
- Blacksmith demonstrations with Mark Waltzer of Belle River Forge
- St. Clair County Library System Bookmobile
- Other local & historical organizations tabling with information, activities, etc.
- Chalk Walk
- Yard Games
The Family Fun Hands-On Zone ($5/Person OR $20/Family Fee) will include activities such as patriotic tie dye bandanas, button making, tin punching, Kammer Cabin tours, and other themed crafts & activities.
Admission to the museum itself will be free this day during the event ONLY from 12-4pm. Our "America250 at the Port Huron Museums" exhibit on the mezzanine will be on display as well as our other temporary and permanent exhibits throughout the building.
Carter's Concessions and Artee's Arctic Treats will be on site with food, drinks, and dessert available for purchase.

*NOTE: Purchase of a wristband is only required to enter the Family Fun Hands On Zone. The free activities listed above and free admission to the museum between 12-4pm on July 12 do not require a wristband.
