Demo Day

For decades, international endurance racing was defined by European dominance. Then American teams arrived with a different approach, one rooted in clarity of purpose, engineering focus, and an uncompromising desire to win. In the mid-1960s, that approach paid off on the world’s most demanding circuits.

This Demo Day examines the moment America proved itself at the highest level of sportscar competition. These cars were built to survive long distances at sustained speed, to function under pressure, and to deliver results against the best teams in the world.

• 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe
• 1966 Ford GT40 Mk II
• 1967 Ford Mk IV

The featured cars will be demonstrated in motion, offering a rare opportunity to experience the machines that secured America’s place at the top of world endurance racing.

Admission is included with regular museum entry. No advance registration required.

• 10:00 | Simeone Museum doors open to the public
• 11:30 to 11:50 | Discussion on the technology behind the cars
• 12:00 to 12:30 | Visual presentation highlighting rare photos and videos from the Simeone Museum Library and Archives
• 12:30 to 1:00 | Spirited driving demonstration of Demo Day cars
• 1:00 to 2:00 | Visitors are able to inspect and photograph Demo Day cars up close while engaging in a question and answer session with Simeone Museum staff and volunteers
