America 250: Ohio Revolutionary War Veterans Graves Project

Join us for a presentation from Krista Horrocks, the Department Manager at the State Historic Preservation Office and Project Manager for America 250-Ohio’s Revolutionary War Veterans Graves Project. In partnership with the Ohio History Connection, Terracon Consultants, Inc., and local chapters of the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, this statewide initiative aims to identify, document, and map the burial sites of an estimated 7,000 Revolutionary War patriots interred in Ohio. Join us to learn more about the project’s goals, how you can participate as a public researcher, and how your contributions can help preserve the memory of these patriots—ensuring that future generations understand and appreciate their sacrifice and legacy.

Speaker Bio: Krista Horrocks works as Department Manager of SHPO Administration for Ohio's State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) at the Ohio History Connection (OHC), where she manages a team of administrators, grant managers, GIS coordinators, and database managers in the support of all program areas for the SHPO. She also serves as OHC's cemetery preservationist, where she works providing research support, guidance, and presentations on all-things-Ohio-cemetery-related. She is the proud Project Manager of the America250-Ohio Revolutionary War Veteran Graves Project. She is a 6th generation native Ohioan originally from the Village of Fredericktown, Knox County, Ohio and her patriot is William Oldfield (1750-1837) (DAR#A085996, SAR#P-262890).
