Join Mishawakans in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a special tribute to Private Mead Hurd, the only known Revolutionary War soldier buried in Mishawaka at his gravesite in the Mishawaka City Cemetery. This commemorative event highlights Hurd’s service in the Connecticut militia during the fight for independence and his family’s lasting legacy in our community through his grandson, Alanson Hurd, founder of Mishawaka.
