Amber's Story:
My name is Amber and I was 37 weeks pregnant when I was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Thanks to an amazing obstetrics team, we all agreed I would have a scheduled c section early so I could begin treatment asap. On March 4th, 2025, I delivered a perfect little boy, 10 days later, I had major surgery to have a rod placed in my right arm (the cancer had eaten through my humerus bone), as well as a placement of my chemo port, and on March 17th I began chemotherapy. Unfortunately just about every time I have chemo, my hemoglobin drops very low (5.8 at its lowest), so blood transfusions are a critical part of my treatment plan in this horrific fight against cancer. I am SO grateful for so many people who get out and donate blood so people like me have a chance to live. My fight is not over, I plan on being here for a long time, I must for my family. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you amazing blood donors for making that dream possible! I am eternally grateful!
