Amazing Taiwan by National Taiwan University of Sport - free!

As part of their North American tour to celebrate the 2025 Taiwanese American Heritage Week, the Dance Department of the National Taiwan University of Sport will give a performance that highlights Taiwan’s rich and dynamic cultural diversity at the Fridley High School Auditorium on Sunday, May 18, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The program features innovative choreography techniques that blend dance, singing, theatrical music, and other art forms to showcase Taiwan’s contemporary cultural essence, ethnic diversity, and traditional folk arts. It reimagines traditional cultural diversity with a fresh perspective. The performances will be in both Mandarin and English in an interactive format to enhance audience connection.

作為慶祝 2025 年美國台灣傳統週北美巡演的一部分，國立台灣體育大學舞蹈系將在 5 月 18 日，星期日，晚上 7:30 至 9:00於Fridley High School Auditorium帶來一場精心策畫的演出，以臺灣多元文化為底蘊，經過創新的編排手法，結合舞蹈、歌唱、音樂、戲劇等表演形式，展現臺灣當代人文風情、族群文化、以及藝陣文化，將傳統多元文化以嶄新的樣貌呈現。演出中將以現場中英文主持的方式串連整場節目，增加演出與觀眾的互動性。

The winds of the Pacific play a melody of the strait’s vastness and the rhythm of the waves. Drifting in search of dreams, they pass through tranquil harbors, gently brushing across the grasslands of life, weaving a silent song that guides the viewer to feel the vastness and poetry of the Pacific.

太平洋的風，吹奏著海峽的遼闊與海浪的律動，漂泊尋夢，穿越寧靜的港灣，輕拂生命草原，交織成無聲的歌，引領觀者感受太平洋的遼闊與詩意。

This dance revolves around Taiwan’s banquet culture, focusing on the tradition of the "Sisters' Table" feast before a bride's wedding. Through a theatrical blend of song and dance, it showcases Taiwan’s unique wedding banquet customs. At the same time, with dishes symbolizing the happiness and harmony of the newlyweds, it extends heartfelt blessings to overseas Taiwanese communities—wishing them longevity, happiness, and everlasting family harmony!

本舞以臺灣辦桌文化為主軸，以新娘出嫁前的「吃姊妹桌」文化為主題，透過戲劇性的歌舞表現，展現臺灣特有的婚慶飲食文化，同時藉由象徵小倆口幸福美滿的菜色，祝福海外僑胞吃到老、活到老，家家幸福久久、圓圓滿滿！

This dance highlights Hakka festival culture, accompanied by the resounding beats of drums, dragon dance, and martial arts displays. Through powerful and expressive movements, it embodies the spirit of resilience, perseverance, and determination. Amid the smoke and sparks of firecrackers, it showcases the tenacity of life taking root and the unyielding spirit that fears no hardship.

本舞以客家節慶文化為主要表現內容， 伴以隆隆的鼓 樂聲及龍藝、武術的展現，以強而有力的肢體語彙，表現堅韌進取、毅力不拔的精神，在炮竹煙硝中，展現落地生根的生命韌性，以及不畏艱難的硬頸精神。

Embracing the beauty of Taiwan’s mountains and seas, the people who grow on this land are always its most breathtaking scenery. Through the passionate and hopeful movements of young dancers, this performance awakens the youthfulness imagination of the audience, inviting them to enjoy the journey of discovering who they are, where they came from, and creating beautiful shared moments together.

擁抱山與海的美麗臺灣，生長在這片土地上的人，始終是最美的風景，透過年輕舞者熱情且充滿希望的肢體表述，召喚觀眾年輕的想像，跟著作品享受自己是誰，來自何處，創造美好的共同時光。

About the 有關國立台灣體育大學:

The National Taiwan University of Sport, located in Taichung City, is a top-tier institution in central Taiwan dedicated to cultivating talent in dance arts and education. It has nurtured numerous outstanding professionals in the performing arts.

Since its establishment in 1996, the group has been invited to perform at major domestic and international events and festivals multiple times. It participated in the Taiwan Heritage Week in the U.S. and Asian Heritage Month in Canada in both 2014 and 2018. In 2017, it was part of the performance and creative team for the opening ceremony of the Summer Universiade. Additionally, it has represented Taiwan twice at Japan's Hokkaido Yosakoi Soran Matsuri and performed four times at Singapore’s River Hongbao Festival to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Their performances have been widely acclaimed, successfully promoting cultural and artistic exchange and enhancing Taiwan’s reputation on the international stage.

「國立臺灣體育運動大學」位於臺中市，為中臺灣培養舞蹈藝術及教育人才之頂尖學校，培育無數優秀的表演專業人才。本團自1996年成立以來，多次受邀參加國內外大型賽會慶典表演，於2014年、2018年兩度參加「美國臺灣傳統週暨加拿大亞裔傳統月」文化訪問團演出；於2017年世界大學運動會開幕式擔任演出及創作團隊； 兩度代表臺灣參加日 本北海道「Yosakoi Soran Matsuri」演出；四度受邀參加新加坡「春到河畔迎新年」演出，演出廣受好評，在文化藝術展演及教育推廣上，都成功促進臺灣文化藝術交流而蜚聲國際。
