Pineapple Productions is super excited to present Amanda Jean in a 'listening room' concert setting. This is going to be a special night!Amanda Jean is a Canadian singer-songwriter born and raised in Trenton. Her ongoing work over-flows with her soulful response to the human experience, all the while celebrating and leaning into the process that is music. Fusing RnB/Pop with Country and Jazz, while echoing the sounds of Southern Soul (that will always reside within us) Amanda Jean is a unique expression of the boundless world of music.
Taking inspiration from artists like Lauryn Hill, Jeff Buckley and Daniel Lanois, Amanda Jean’s music has seen her travel from Toronto all the way to the Middle East performing in Bahrain for members of the Navy and in Dubai.
Music has been a large part of her life since she could talk. Growing up in Trenton with her mother, who was a recording artist, music was always around in the periphery. Amanda explains that without music, her life would feel incomplete.
“I felt unfulfilled otherwise. I didn’t feel complete as a person,” she says. “I always have a song or an idea running through me or it’ll be my cathartic response to whatever I’m going through.”
Boom Boom is just one of the latest singles from Jean, her plan is to release more singles until she has enough material to debut an album. Her past singles including Learn, Reflections and Truth, are an example of her great versatility in subject matter and styles.
“The plan is to continuously release singles until I have a full album of music,” explained Jean. “I’ve got dozens of songs. But I like the natural inertia of now I’m writing a song that’s like a distant cousin or the sister to Boom Boom. It’ll eventually turn into an album, hopefully next year, and then I can press it to vinyl and release it that way. Until then I’ll just be releasing each song as a single.”
