Amanda Carr at Maudslay Arts Center

A multi-styled vocalist/pianist, Carr began performing professionally as a teenager in the rock and pop genre playing in Boston area nightclubs. She has since received critical acclaim focusing on her fresh jazz and big band interpretations of the Great American Songbook.

Amanda is an international recording and performing artist. She is a two-time Boston Music Awards Nominee, and her five jazz albums and live performances have received worldwide critical acclaim for her fresh interpretations of the Great American Songbook. The Wall Street Journal hailed her, “…a true jazz singer in a time of wannabes.”

Not limited by any genre, she has also performed with orchestras and as a solo artist as well as with pop, rock, blues, folk, and jazz artists. Her performance credits include work with Michael Feinstein, Keith Lockhart and The Boston Pops, The Artie Shaw Orchestra, The Harry James Band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Michael Chiklis Band (MCB), the Hirsh Gardner Project, and many others. She traveled to China to represent the USA as a musical ambassador, performing hit songs by famous American pop artists in a series of theater shows.
