Come out to East Piccadilly Street on June 8th from 10am-4pm to help work on our 2023 parking space murals with Arte Libre VA! No artistic experience is necessary, the designs will be drawn before the public painting session begins, it will basically be a large scale paint-by-numbers. Our goal is to start and finish 2 spaces on this day, which will only be possible with the help of community volunteers!Come as a family, bring a friend, or come by yourself! Join us for however long you want and give us a hand in beautifying Old Town Winchester! Look out for the 2 spots with traffic cones blocking them off along Piccadilly Street. If you're there to help, let one of the Arte Libre VA volunteers stationed at the space know, and we'll direct you to where we could use your help most!
We will have all the supplies needed, just make sure you're wearing clothes you don't mind possibly getting paint on. We are using a latex-based paint made for asphalt, which will not wash if it gets on your clothing. Please make sure you bring water and snacks, and use sun protection, especially if you plan on painting with us for a while!
We are so excited to have the opportunity to continue working on this project this year, we hope you're able to join us or come say hi and watch us paint!
*This date is weather dependent, though tomorrow's forecast is looking good! We will announce asap if we have to cancel. It may be quite hot, so please dress accordingly and take breaks as needed!
