Discover the art of etching in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop that teaches you how to create beautiful prints using simple materials and techniques that you can replicate at home. In this four-hour etching and printmaking workshop, you'll learn how to etch using a 15cm x 15cm aluminium plate and a non-toxic salt/sulphate etching solution — a safer and accessible alternative to traditional acid etching.
You will explore the technique of drawing onto a plate with a sharpie pen and bitumen ground to achieve design work and tonal aquatints.
Bring along your visual diary, design sketches, or line art ideas to inspire your plate design.
