How can vulnerability and compassion help us love ourselves and others more? What about the radical idea that God wants us to love? Join us on Sunday, August 1, 2021, to explore these questions with Betty Hart and dive into our personal vulnerabilities.

Betty Hart will also be with us for a Deep Dive Workshop after lunch!

We will also have amazing music by violinist, Susie Peek, and pianist, Stephen Fordham.

Sunday Lunch Is Back! Join us for a delicious, locally sourced, & organic light lunch from Chef Kerry. We are beyond excited to have our dining room full of food and fellowship again. Lunch $7

Betty Hart

Betty Hart is a director, actor, facilitator, speaker, and woman of faith whose mission to help create space for necessary conversations. She had the great privilege of giving a Ted Talk on compassion in November of 2020 that has now reached over one million views on Ted.com. This summer, she directed An Iliad for Creede Repertory Theatre and will be directing for Metropolitan State University this fall. Betty is immensely grateful for the opportunity for people to safely gather once more.

Susie Peek

Susie Peek has been a professional musician for most of her life. She worked her way through college playing the violin, earning a Performance Certificate and a Bachelor of Music degree with High Honors. She's played in major orchestras around the country, including the Colorado Symphony, and performed at hundreds of weddings, celebrations, and other events.

Regarding pandemic guidelines, the latest message from the CDC states:

The Board of Althea is continuing to follow Colorado State and CDC guidelines, therefore, masks will not be required to be worn by fully vaccinated people inside our building.

However, everyone should be respectful of individuals who may wish to continue wearing masks, keep socially distanced, and avoid hugs.

She will forward them to Board member Dr. Charlie Foster who works in the medical profession and received immediate CDC guidelines as they changed. He has been our guiding light to make tough decisions about Althean’s safety during this challenging time.
