This class is for ALL your alterations needs!
We’ll be covering everything you need to know to make your clothes fix perfectly! You can choose from:
Hemming Trousers
Bring along a pair of unlined trousers or jeans to adjust to the perfect length! We’ll also be covering hemming sleeves so you could bring along an unlined non stretch top too!
Taking in clothes
Bring along an unlined dress or top to take in to your perfect fit! This works best with woven fabric clothing that is simple and sleeveless.
Adjusting Waistbands of trousers/skirts
Probably the fiddliest but definitely the most rewarding! We can show you how to take in a waistband on a skirt or pair of trousers, bring along your favourite pair of trousers that you just wished fitted better! (Please don’t bring jeans to this class!)
What to bring:
1-3 items of clothing that need altered
Basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, chalk etc)
For example you could bring trousers that need hemmed, an unlined dress or top to take in and your favourite pair of trousers that you just wished fitted better! (Please don’t bring jeans to this class, they take too long to adjust the waistband!).
Please note lined items are much more complicated and as such we won’t be able to cover them in this class.
This class is for those who have already been to our beginners class or have a few projects under their belt already. We won’t be teaching you how to use the sewing machine in this class but we have time to do that in our Beginners Sewing classes for you!
