Taught by Gillian McDonnellLearn how to alter clothing, like they do for the movies! This class will go over 'Basic' alterations, which in the film industry costumers do regularly.
Small class sizes: 6 students
Class length: 1 x 7 hours (1hr lunch break)
Previous sewing experience required
This class is for ages 17yrs & Up
Date & Time: November 9th from 11:30am-7:30pm (1hr lunch break)
These different types of 'Basic' alterations will be completed hand on:
Hemming pants & the many different ways to do so
Hollywood hem, cuffed hem, hand-stitching (Catch Stitch Method) & Blind Stitch hem, etc.
Taking in Pants at waist
Dress pants & Jeans
Hemming shirt sleeves (with cuffs)
Rental style vs. Permanent style
Hemming/lengthing cuffs on suit jackets
Other Alterations that will be demonstrated:
Tapering (quick tailoring) Pants
Tapering (quick tailoring) Shirts (side seams & sleeves)
