This month’s Open House features a powerful cultural introduction from the Ti’at Society, who will bring the Moomat Ahiko (Breath of the Ocean) canoe to AltaSea. The program connects ancestral ocean stewardship with today’s emerging blue economy, highlighting generations of coastal knowledge, resilience, and relationship with the sea.

Guests will have the opportunity to learn about Tongva maritime traditions, experience traditional cultural performances, and participate in a blessing ceremony honoring Indigenous maritime traditions and the continued connection between people and the ocean.
