8:30pm.A collaborative project assembled from Chicago's Jakob Heinemann (bass), Chet Zenor (guitar), and Andy Danstrom (drums), Alta Vista is an experimental instrumental trio eager to tear down the dividing lines between American musical idioms. The group's debut self-titled album, "Alta Vista" (released 2023 via Ruination Record Co.), is built from the unearthed melodies of a century-old book of obscure and unrecorded country-folk tunes, onto which the trio imports earnest inspiration and inventive modern gestures that bend and break the tropes of Americana with reckless abandon. This summer, the band will record a brand new LP of original music that builds off the foundation of their debut, complete with cinematic spaghetti Western soundscapes, down-and-out ballads, and desert highway driving songs.

Drawler is a pedal steel led project by Jordan Martins with elements of free improvisation, country ish melodies and note bending, and a healthy amount of minimalist/hypnotic patterns. Collaborators in this ensemble include Quin Kirchner, Andrew Scott Young, Matt Ulery, Peter Maunu, Macie Stewart, Jason Roebke, and others.
For this performance Martins will be joined by Quin Kirchner on drums, and Andrew Scott Young on bass.
