About this Event
“Absolutely gorgeous and so full of life” - Guy Garvey
We saw Anna play at Manchester Folk Expo and were left gobsmacked. Her voice, her harp-playing (the Clàrsach is the traditional celtic harp), and the sublime backing of double bass and cello were like nothing we've ever heard before. We literally ran to book her.
Anna McLuckie
Anna McLuckie is a Scottish singer, songwriter and Clàrsach player. Raised on classical and traditional music, Anna’s writing draws on her musical beginnings and also takes influence from her love of popular music and more experimental sounds. Her music sits in a world of contemporary folklore; her songs layered with interweaving harmonies, story led lyricism and free form structures.
Her new album ‘The Little Winters’ reached critical acclaim being played on BBC Radio 6 Music by Guy Garvey, BBC Radio 3’s Night Tracks and BBC Radio 2 by Mark Radcliff. The album was reviewed by the Guardian and was featured as KLOF Magazine’s album of the month.
Now based in London, she has performed in venues around the world from big festivals to wee house concerts and supported the likes of Jake Xerxes Fussell, Rozi Plain and Richard Hawley.
