Margalla Trail Runners is going to organize the first-ever exciting, thrilling, and challenging, 60km and 20k race, on the mountains of Galliyat. The UTMB® World Series Qualifier races are organized by @margallatrailrunners first time in the history of Pakistan. It will the longest-distance 60km running race on the most beautiful and scenic trails of Galliyat, Pakistan.
UTMB® World Series Qualifier is a qualifying race in the 20K, 50K, 100K or 100M categories which contributes towards every Finishers UTMB® Index and gives privileged access to the UTMB® World Series Events*. The privileged access corresponds to:
• Exclusive pre-sales period
• Early bird prices secure
• Access to races on a first come first served basis
*Excluding sold-out races where a draw will be organized. In the event of a draw, subscriptions will be exclusive to UTMB® Index holders.
Runners will be qualified or they have to improve their Performance Index via participating in 20K, 50K, 100K, 100M UTMB World Series Qualifier Events/Races on the following formula;
 It is based on the time taken to run the distance, elevation, and overall position in the participating UTMB World Series Qualifier event/Race.
 The faster athletes run the better their Performance Index.
Margalla Trail Runners (MTR) has yet again planned the exciting, thrilling, longest, and toughest hill/trail run. This time, MTR planned for the high-altitude lakes run of Neelum (AJK) and Kaghan (KPK) Valleys. For the first time in the history of Pakistan, MTR is going to attempt the breakthrough of high lakes run in ONE GO. It’ll be the first time anyone and, in a group, to do high altitude (average more than 3500m altitude) group run in beautiful valleys Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Mansera, KPK, Pakistan.
Margalla Trail Runners (MTR) did a recce of high-altitude lakes route in July 2021 named “MTR High Altitude Lakes Expedition”. The plan is to touch as many lakes in ONE GO RUN and approximately more than 20 lakes will cover.

We will leave Friday late evening for Dowarian, Neelum Valley, AJK on 05 August 2022. Dinner in the way and later move into jeeps for Ratti Gali basecamp. Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th August 2022 will stay at Ratti Gali basecamp and on both days will do short rotational runs and hikes around Ratti Gali and Gittian lakes for acclimatization.
Important Note: Only invitee members are allowed and can join the High-altitude Lakes Run. Participants must carry their CNIC/Passport.

Obligatory Running Gear for 60k Race
 Running bag/pack to carry obligatory equipment throughout the race.
 Mobile/cell phone (organization’s security number saved), keep the phone turned on, and make sure the phone is fully charged at the start of the race.
 Personal cup/beaker 15cl minimum in addition to bottles or flasks.
 Bottles, flasks, or water bladder that holds a minimum of 1 liter of liquid.
 Headlamp/torch in good working order.
 Whistle+
 Self-adhesive elasticated bandage which can serve as a bandage or strapping
 Food reserve - Recommendation: 800kcal (2 gels + 2 energising bars each of 65g)
 Jacket with a hood that will withstand bad weather in the mountains and made with a waterproof and breathable membrane.
 It is the runner's responsibility to judge if their jacket is both winds- and waterproof.
 Hat/Cap or bandana
 Can be a windproof jacket, but it does not replace the obligatory waterproof jacket and vice versa.
 Extra clothes, socks, full sleeve or T-shirt, sunglasses
 Sleeping bag
 Hydration and Food Supplies: You must have to carry a running vest or 5 to 10 litter running vest with water and food (1 to 2 water, dates, chocolates, banana, ORS, etc.). Participants must carry food supplies and put them into the vehicle or can refuel from Tuck Shops at Nathia Gali, Dunga Gali, and Ayubia at their choice and requirement.
 Participants must carry their CNIC/Passport.
RACE TRAVEL PLAN FOR 60K RACE PARTICIPANTS

Participants must bring their sleeping bags. Those who haven’t sleeping bags have to inform, please, us timely. We’ll arrange accordingly. Participants will stay in camps will on sharing basis. Although we appreciate participants who bring their own camps.
• Personal crew, support staff, and pacers are permitted for the 60k race.
• Those who will bring personal crew/support staff or pacers will be charged 80% of the race fee.
• Participants have to inform 2 weeks before race day about crew/support staff or pacers.
• Otherwise it wouldn’t be the responsibility of organizers and participants have to do own arrangements for crew/support staff or pacers accordingly.

 Margalla Trail Runners (MTR) is a hill, trail & mountain running club based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The club's objective is to promote hill, trail & mountain running in Pakistan.
 MTR hill/trail running events are open to everyone and anyone can join events.

 I understand that competing in this event may involve running and walking on wilderness trails with rocks, roots, stream crossings, and up and down steep terrain. The hazards may include but are not limited to; challenging terrain, rocks, roots, adjacent streams, rivers, motor vehicle traffic, slippery surfaces, loose rocks, soft sand, weather conditions, heat exhaustion, hypothermia, actions of spectators, other competitors, general public and the event organizers personnel.
 I agree to comply with the rules and directions of event officials and their personnel.
 I acknowledge and accept that hill/trail running carries an inherent risk of injury, illness, and in extreme cases, death.
 MTR is a non-registered body and cannot be held liable for anything including but not limited to any loss, theft, damage, or injury to property or persons whether arising in contract, negligence, equity, or otherwise.
 Additionally, all athletes should use due care under the circumstances to comply with all rules, regulations, statutes, and laws of Pakistan.
