Asslamu alaikum science enthusiasts! After a long wait, Ideal Science and Technology Aiming Research Council, known as ISTARC, presents to you 'ALPHASTRA 1.0,' which was postponed in November 2023, will be held at Ideal School and College, Motijheel Campus in April 2024.
ISTARC is one of the most reputable science clubs of Bangladesh. It has been known for giving opportunities to showcase talents and achieve innovative aspects of science and technology. Among its rich history, there were 11 national science carnivals successfully organized by the club. This time, we are taking a new initiative in which the club is trying to do something new and different. The club aims to take new challenges to enlighten college students with the glory of science.
This event is only for the students of Ideal School & College both Motijheel and Banasree branch students HSC Batch 24 & 25. Here are the segments you can participate:
Solo:

>>> SOLO <<<
● The Sciencophobic ●
There will be both multiple choice and express in one word questions; questions can be from any branch of science, and candidates have to submit the answer sheet within the specified time.
- Participants will be given 10 multiple choice ,10 one word answer questions, and 5 short question answers from any field of science like physics, chemistry, and biology.
Time: 30 minutes
1) Papers will be provided by us so you don't have to bring any papers or notebooks.
2) Participants must have their own pens and other necessities.
3) Using a mobile phone during the segment is strictly prohibited .
● Knowledge Carnival ●
If you are an expert in general knowledge and current affairs, then this platform is the right choice for you. Show your knowledge and steal the show!
- Participants have to answer 25 questions from the field of science, arts, literature, history, worldwide affairs, and many more.
Time: 30 minutes
1) Papers will be provided by us so you don't have to bring any papers or notebooks.
2) Participants must have their own pens and other necessities.
3) Using a mobile phone during the segment is strictly prohibited .
● Geographic Art ●
It's all about map-solving ability through the mastery of geography.
Time: 45 minutes
● Detective's Eye ●
Are you the master detective we are looking for? Can your eyes solve riddles like no one else? Then gear it up because ISTARC is bringing some brainstorming riddles for you!
Time: 45 minutes
● Sci-document ●
Participants have to submit a customized book where science-related items (such as newspaper clippings or pictures) are collected, preserved, or described.
- It's a solo segment, so a scrapbook can have a maximum of 1 member, and participants must bring their scrapbook on time mentioned in the schedule, and they must bring all their necessary equipment.

● Wall Magazine ●
1) Every wall magazine can have a maximum of 2 persons.
2) Participants are permitted to bring their wall magazine in any standard size.
Theme: Any science-related topic
● Project Display ●
1) One team can have a maximum or minimum of two members.
2) Any science based project is permitted.
3) participants must bring their own necessary equipment, tape, scissors, etc.)

● Shutterbug ●
Do you have any captured treasure in your camera that tells a story of a thousand tales? Then, do share it with us so that we can share it with the world.
1) Contestants can submit a maximum of two photos.
2) Winners' photos will be posted on our event page with their identification.
3) Any kind of piracy will result in disqualification.
4) Photos can be either coloured or Black and white .
5) Only online entries are acceptable.
6) DSLR / Mobile both can be used .
● Sci-Fi Story Writing ●
Man loves to live in fantasy. Does science and fantasy go hand in hand? Do let us know by submitting your sci-fi story in this online segment!
1) Only online submissions can be acceptable
2) Sci-fi story can be a maximum of 1500 words .
3) The story must be based on science.
4) Both English and Bangla languages are allowed to be used in this story (Don't mix up two languages in one story).
5) One participant is allowed to submit 1 story .
6) Any plagiarism will result in instant disqualifications by organizers.
7) You can submit your review via a PDF /doc file. The participants must include the following information at the end of story:

Are you a bookworm? Then, this segment will be a perfect opportunity to showcase your talent! Write a review of one of the following books :
