ALPFA Vancouver Chapter Launch
About this Event
What is ALPFA?
ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals For America) is one of the largest networks of Latino professionals and students in North America. Founded in 1972, it has grown into a community of more than 100,000 members dedicated to professional development, leadership, and creating opportunities for one another.
In 2021, ALPFA expanded into Canada with its first chapter in Toronto. Montreal and Calgary followed, and now Vancouver is becoming the fourth Canadian chapter, connecting our local community to a growing network across North America.
Our vision is to redefine what networking means.
We believe meaningful professional relationships, much like good friendships, are built through time, intention, and mutual investment. It's about genuinely getting to know one another, supporting each other's growth, and wanting to see others succeed.
To celebrate the beginning of this community, we're bringing together two speakers whose experiences reflect the power of relationships, leadership, and community.
Luis Juárez is CEO and Managing Partner of Inside View Global, with over 15 years of experience in the Microsoft technology ecosystem. His journey has taken him across Mexico, Australia, and Canada, where he's built businesses, connected entrepreneurs, and created communities that bring people together.
Karen Menjivar Garcia is Vice President, Commercial Banking at RBC, with nearly 20 years of experience across global and Canadian financial institutions. From navigating the global financial crisis at Citigroup to leading commercial banking teams in Vancouver, her career reflects a strong commitment to leadership, developing talent, and creating opportunities for others.
Both will share their journeys, the lessons they've learned, and their reflections on what it means to be Latin American in Canada.
