Allison Lorenzen

Allison Lorenzen is a musician and recording artist based in Southern Colorado by way of Denver, whose darkwave dreampop sound explores a minimalist approach to acutely felt noise-pop and aching slowcore. Brushed in deep strokes of lush synthesizers and gossamer vocals, her first solo album, Tender, was released by Whited Sepulchre Records in 2021 to critical praise from the likes of NPR, Spill Magazine, Austin Town Hall, and more. Tender was named Best New Album by Denver's Westword Magazine in 2022. Allison Lorenzen and Midwife's 2023 cover of Bush's 1994 alt-rock hit "Glycerine" received acclaim from many publications including NPR and Stereogum.

Openly Weep

Openly Weep is the ambient techno project by Cincinnati, OH based musician and Whited Sepulchre Records label owner Ryan Hall. Hall's latest release, Flyover States, was inspired in equal parts by Robert D. Putnam’s landmark work “Bowling Alone” on the collapse of community in “flyover regions”, a deeply intense experience while visiting the remains of the Branch Davidian Complex in Waco, TX, Flannery O’Connor’s terse prose and even more terse spirituality and the salvation found in transgression in Peter Bogdanovich’s The Last Picture Show. There is a framework within each track that handles both transcendence and depressive realism without giving into the escapism of each. Hauntological Future Garage, The Sight Below’s sunken House and the bleakness and beauty of DJ Healer swirl towards a deep center of these tracks that pushes against nihilism and depressive hedonia and serves as a protective hex against inaction. Since 2022, Openly Weep has shared the stage with Grischa Lichtenberger (Berlin), Brett Schneider, Public Speaking, Bailey Miller and more. Openly Weep's work has been featured on Foxy Digitalis, NTS Radio and NPR's WYSO.

Bell Mine

Bell Mine is a Denver-based electronic act whose style is marked by large, orchestral textures and pop-adjacent ethereal vocal stylings. Influenced by the off-the-wall, genre-bending style of artists such as Bjork, FKA Twigs, she also draws heavily from the genres of Electronic, Classical, Pop, and R&B. Bell Mine performed as a solo act for several festivals including Omaha Femme Fest, DIY Fest Lincoln, Nebraska, Girls Rock Denver and Titwrench festival in Denver and released her debut EP in 2017.

In 2023 she added bassist, Melissa Black, from Denver DIY punk and melodic hardcore acts such as New Growth and No Breed. The duo recently traveled to Las Cruces, NM where they played shows throughout the desert and had a recording residency with a multi-instrumentalist and recording engineer, Midwife. You can look forward to Bell Mine's upcoming release, Philomena, in summer 2023!
