About this Event
The Natural Areas Conservancy (NAC) will host a guided walk through Alley Pond Park's Oakland Lake and Tulip Trail to explore the diversity of flora and fauna. Volunteers will learn how to identify these plants and learn how to make iNaturalist observations of any other signs of nature you find along the way. These observations will contribute to the 2025 City Nature Challenge and NYC's overall ranking during the weekend.
If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver. Note: Every attendee must fill out a waiver. If you have others joining, please ensure they fill out the waiver above as well.
Location: Alley Pond Park - Oakland Lake: 46th Ave & Cloverdale Blvd, Bayside, NY 11364
Time: 10am - 1pm
What should you bring:
A water bottle
Weather appropriate clothing
Sturdy, closed toe shoes
Smart phone with the app iNaturalist downloaded
Join the on iNaturalist. The user with the most observations during City Nature Challenge Weekend will win a small prize.
