Alley-Oop Street Party

Celebrate the start of summer by joining a night of live music, great food, cool games, and creative drinks. You’ll be surrounded by many snapshot moments you won’t know where to start. With custom cocktails from a bar outfitted as a dumpster, chats with binners who you’ll also find featured on our story wall, food from our two complimentary food trucks, and instagram moments all throughout the alley – it’s shaping up to be a glorious night.

Tickets are required upon entry – make sure to get them early as we're expecting to sell out! Included in your ticket is complimentary (yes that means free!) access to our two food trucks: La Taqueria and The Praguery, as well as two drink tickets. You'll also have full access to our live entertainment area, games, photo wall, and lounge area.

There will be two bars available throughout the alley where we will have custom cocktails as well as beer, wine, and non alcoholic beverages.

Location: Alley Oop is located between W Hastings St and W Pender St from the north/south, and Seymour St and Granville St from the east/west. Here’s a Google Map link to the exact spot.

Please enter from Granville Street and have your ticket and ID ready for the host.

Time: The event will open at 6pm and run until 11pm. You may re-enter the event after leaving using your wristband.

Music: From 6:30pm-8:30pm we'll be joined by a live band and will have a DJ to close the night out from 9:00pm-11:00pm.

Binners’ Project is a group of waste-pickers aided by support staff dedicated to improving their economic opportunities, and reducing the stigma they face as informal recyclable collectors.

Binners’ Project is a project on MakeWay’s Shared Platform, which provides operational supports, governance, and charitable expertise for changemakers.

We envision a world where binners are included, and we know that building community and awareness of the work of Binners’ Project is key to making that vision come true. This event serves multiple purposes, as a fundraiser, a community building event, a way to grow awareness of Binners’ Project’s work, and of course - a party!

Alley Oop is surrounded by accessible public transit, cycling, and walking options, which we encourage you to use.

Waterfront Station is within one block of Alley Oop to the north on Cordova Street (for Expo Line and Seabus) or just west of the alley on Granville Street (for Canada Line). Multiple buses pass by the location on Granville and W Hastings Streets.

If necessary, paid parking is available in the garage adjacent to the alley. Enter from Seymour Street, just south of the entrance to the alley.

The alley will be fully wheelchair accessible and accessible areas for eating and lounging will be available.

There will be no smoking allowed in the alley – you may smoke outside the event on Granville St or Seymour St.

Minors are allowed inside the event, and will be given a different coloured wristband upon entry.
