About this Event

Join Catholic Literary Arts, the sponsor of this contest for young writers, to celebrate the 2026 Alleluia Contest winners. This contest honors the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. Entries to this contest are inspired by St. Francis of Assisi’s poem The Canticle of All Creatures.

The words of St. Francis’ Canticle are an eloquent witness to God’s loving will for mankind that was realized in His design of creation’s beneficence.

These youthful poets bring skills and faith to the task of creating original poetry that moves the heart and touches the soul.

This in-person event will be held at Cullen Hall, University of St. Thomas, located on the west side of the main quadrangle of the campus, parallel to Yoakum Boulevard and between West Alabama Street and W. Main Street. Parking may be available on the adjacent streets. A parking garage is located at the intersection of West Alabama and Graustark streets.
