Plogging with HOKA & Pro Bike + Run

Info: Join HOKA and Pro Bike+Run for a neighborhood clean-up and coffee. Each participant will be provided a trash bag and latex gloves for the morning and encouraged to get in their morning walk or jog while collecting any visible litter from the area. No set route for the morning. Trial shoes will be provided by HOKA to showcase some light hiking and Gore-Tex options. Complimentary Commonplace Coffee will be on tap afterwards for those who participate!

Waiver: If its your first time running with us, please sign our annual waiver with the link in our bio.
Distance: Always about 3-miles
Start: 10AM & Meet up in front of Common Place Coffee in Rockwell Park

Host: Dr. Andrew Nowak
Info: Participation in running for fitness, recreation, and competition continues to grow, and with it, so does research in running medicine. This session will review current evidence-based literature that challenges several long-held beliefs in the field. Topics will focus on strategies for preventing running-related injuries. Attendees will leave with practical, research-informed tips to incorporate into training and practice

Info: Mark Staley is an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, fitness and weight training instructor, and Board-Certified Holistic Health Coach with over 20 years of experience in movement, wellness, and integrative nutrition. His approach to practice brings together yoga, strength training, alignment-based biomechanics, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and intuitive movement to support both stability and ease in the body. Mark’s teaching is known for its grounding, uplifting, and accessible style that encourages personal agency and embodied awareness. In addition to his movement background, Mark is trained in Plant-Based Nutrition through Cornell University with Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Nutritional Excellence with Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where he studied with leading experts in preventive health and mind-body medicine. He works with individuals to build energy, resilience, confidence, and sustainable lifestyle habits through a holistic approach.

Urban Mushroom Walk in Frick Park

Info: Join Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Naturalist Educator Stephen Bucklin at the Allegheny Sport & Outdoor Summit for a walk to search for fungi in Frick Park! We'll walk through Point Breeze searching for mushrooms along the sidewalk, then take a 1-mile loop through the forests of Frick Park to continue our search. Our walk will end back at the Summit. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes with decent tread, but no other supplies are necessary.
