Come support the Mitchell family as they embark on their second journey with a rare and incurable heart defect impacting both of their sons. Greg (son of Kevin & Becky Mitchell and 2012 LPA grad) and Piper’s first son, Harvey was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) less than two years ago. Harvey has already undergone two open heart procedures (due to complications required 3 open heart surgeries) and will need at least one more. Now, after being advised that the chance of having another child with the devastating disease was nearly impossible, the Mitchell’s second son, Alden has been diagnosed. Alden will undergo the same three open heart surgeries as his big brother with the first occurring in the first days of his life.
La Barista is providing what will be sure to be a delicious freewill chili and hot dog bar as well as a cash bar. Incredible silent auction items and bake sale. Check family photos for the holidays off your list with Annie Minske lending her amazing talent for a $20 donation. The Vikings vs. Bears game will be on the 90' screens and the Children's Science Center will be open with games and activities for the kids.
As we enter the season of giving thanks, let's bring community together to celebrate family and raise money to support this incredibly strong family during what will be an extremely challenging time physically, emotionally, and financially.
