Dear Friends and Family,
Please join us for our annual All Saints Day community altar and celebration on Sunday, November 1st at Lake Pontchartrain from 4 to 7 PM. We will gather near 2300 Lakeshore Drive, by the parking lot closest to the entrance to Louisiana State University-New Orleans.
Bring photographs, flowers, candles, and other momentos of loved ones who have passed on for the altar, and if you have the time, food and drink to share. The celebration will include a service honoring our ancestors featuring @sulaspirit @sunnipatterson @tonyaboydcannonexperience @boemoney6 and Moose Jackson. Herbal cleansing by Rachael Reeves. Light refreshments will be served.
The event is supported by our Storytelling and Culture course at Louisiana State University-New Orleans, Collaborative Public Humanities in Action at LS-UNO, @bayoubarkada @growdatyouthfarm @subtlefieldsflowers @speakeasyfarm and the National Performance Network.
